best looking aircraft

Well, not wanting to forget the Blackburn Blackburn, which I considered once I finalized my list....but the DH Hornet is my choice.

For me in no particular order, the top ten are:

Spitfire Mk IX or XVI highback (lowbacks are ugly)
Hawker Hind
Vickers Vildebeest
Sea Fury
Lancaster
Mosquito
Hurricane
Hunter
Short Singapore III
Tiger Moth

DH Hornet.

I can't help wondering if these threads are designed to generate traffic for the OPs own website/blog?

With the Supermarine Southampton at number 10, who could argue with that. http://www.mocgb.net/forums/images/smilies/yahoo/39.gif

BTW- Sea Fury FBII ;)

MikeJ must be the only person with superior taste in British aircraft than I, I was going to list Gannet AEW, SB.3, Blackburn, Wyvern, Skyvan, Bison, and Fleet Shadower!

To me all bubble canopy and two seat Spitfires are ugly. Give me Hawker Hart family biplanes any day.

Fleet Shadower .....Who ever designed that ,,,????

Well in your pictured case (A.S.39 Fleet Shadower), the awfully nice chaps at Airspeed, however the equally nice fellows at General Aircraft Limited came up with the equally beautiful G.A.L.38 Fleet Shadower,

Hawker Sea Fury ....

Impossible.

Asymetric elements on an aircraft are just ugly by nature (wings radiators on the Sea Fury).

SHar1, real shame when they tried to upgrade them, spoilt all the nice lines with that big nose

Glad to see the Comet 1 in there, but i think for jet has to be the Hunter. Piston id go for the DH Albatross, such nice lines and curves.
