-Hi Guys here is the response from RR Heritage:
My colleague in the Trust Dave Birch has researched these two engines in
our files and he has come up with the following information:
The two Merlin 25s are undoubtedly from Mosquito Mk.VIs imported from
Britain for the Royal Australian Air Force from 1944, or the spare
engines for them. Mosquitos built entirely from scratch in Australia had
Packard Merlins in them. The details for the two engines are:
104605, built at Hillington, Glasgow on contract SB.4601, Delivered 25
Jul 1944
106607, built by Ford at Trafford Park, Manchester on contract
C/Eng/1480. Delivered 14 October 1944.
The subsequent histories of these engines are not known. They might have
undertaken some service in the RAF before they were shipped to
Australia, or went straight there.
I hope this information is of use and good luck with project
Yours sincerely,
Peter Collins

Hi Guys
We have 2 x Merlin 25s (Right Handed) on display in our museum here at HARS Albion Park, Wollongong, Australia.
We have no known history on them.
Their Serial numbers are:
#104605 and #106607
We think they were in a locally made Mosquito or Mosquitos, but any help on their manufacture dates or operational use would be appreciated
