Good news, IWM Duxford will be fully open to the public, staff, volunteers and site users from Thursday 9 January.

That's good news although the IWM website has not yet been updated and notices at the site still says closed to visitors but the that seems to have been lifted for visiting expensive helicopters as the photo below indicates taken in the last hour ! (The first movement noted for 2014 ?)

I thought I'd leave a reminder of previous years' coverage. These threads disappear from the forum, but will still survive by the magic of the internet and can be found at:

Looks like she has had a clean at least as she looked a bit dirty last time I saw her.
I would like to see her in the American air museum instead of sitting in the cold outside.

Is that the 2nd time the F15 has been refurbished? Surely the replica Mustang would be be suitable outside the AAM?

Pen Pusher;
That third photo down of Frankie is stunning! Love the moody lighting and the reflections on the fuselage and the sky sets it off a treat!
I wouldn't mind a great big canvas print of that up on my wall!
Regards;
Steve

Maybe after the second or third refurb of the F15, they can invest the time and money in to getting the victor cleaned up???
