Blind Flying Mount Question

Hi,

I've come across a picture of a blind flying mount that is not like others I've seen before. Below is that picture from a Hurricane and second picture is of what I thought was the standard blind flying mounts. Has anyone seen the first mount before? Is it a modern adaptation of the original mount or is it likely just a one off?

Thanks,

Ron
