Today the CAF are hosts to a very special event. A number of interesting aero craft are displaying. The Shackleton has put on a fine display with all four engines running and a taxi down and Bach in front of the crowd line. A magnificent sight and sound. Well done to all in the Shackleton team. Just hope the special guest will make it here. Commentator is good and has made reference to forum posts and made special point of being silent so engines could be heard.

Today is a double whammy event as on top of the Shackleton taxi we are also hopefully having a special display from the Vulcan. The commentator has just told us that no news of test flight and that if successful the display will be sedate unlike that at RIAT in view of location and new restrictions following Shoreham.

The Meteor and Venom will NOT be displaying in formation with Vulcan as had been rumoured.

Just wiping a tear from my eye as the Vulcan disappears into the Blue yonder. Beautiful display and noise, did not catch the howl in my position. This will probably be the last time I will see 558 bit of a lump in throat.

The commentator was EXCELLENT. As the Vulcan approached he said he would be silent for the whole display. He received a spontaneous round of applause from the crowd. !!! Good for him.

Although we do have two Vampires on site at CVT neither operated today, it was one of our two Venoms that flew in formation with the Meteor NF11. :)

Thank you Consul I will have to brush up on my aeroplane identification. Correction made. Thanks to all for a truly excellent day. The buffet was excellent. Thanks for the extra camera holes in the fence! The atmosphere was excellent and it was a pleasure to see the Classic planes operating and obviously the successful highlights of the Shackleton taxi and Vulcan display. Both much appreciated by the crowd as I am sure you are already aware.

That was difficult to establish and this was not a public event. There does appear to be things in the pipe line both with the Shackleton along the lines of education and children perhaps obtaining more interest than just from enthusiasts. About CAF I wouldn't know which is not surprising under the circumstances. I have seen negative comments on here about the Twin Pin but I did hear from a somebody who should know that it is just a question of cost, which is what I had been lead to believe in the first place.
