Hello fellow Members and guests, Yesterday, I made a 4 hour car trip to the north of The Netherlands to visit the Lelystad Airshow. This airport has a growing local collection of warbirds and wants to make a name in european historic airshow scene. I think they did a great job yesterday. I arrived early, and started to take a look at the static line which was presented at the entrance. The first to greet the visitors was the DC2. But there where more planes in the row. See here: J.V.

I continued my visit and went to see the static line next to the taxiway. Here you could see many other nice vintage types. First pic is of Lambach HL II reproduction. The others are a selection out of the planes of the local badsed Early Birds Foundation. J.V.

Before the start of the flying program, the Connie was towed around the field. It couldn't fly due to engine problems. But I was impressed by it, even without seeing it in the sky. J.V.

I am only covering the historic aircraft here. So I will not give pics of the pitts who displayed after the F86. The next vintage plane which flew was the casa Ju52 which came from La Ferte in France: J.V.

Another rare airshow visitor came from Belgium. It was the Fiat G46 from E. Vormezeele which gave a short, but nice display in this rare machine: J.V.

Well done, Jochen, it pays to get there early before the aircraft become hidden by crowds of people!
