Oh how splendid - what time did she get in? I left at 3pm for a family engagement. Great day at Dux today.

Good job the Spitfire was not registered in Germany, I prefer G-LINT....

G-LINT was a Pitts I think...

Does look nice. Had thought about giving Legends a miss this year, may have to reconsider.

Finally a properly finished Spit stunning, now if only my numbers would come up, SM845 would get the same treatment

Looking at the leading edge of the wing and the fact that she’’s going around the World are they the same as the PR variants i.e. full of fuel?

G-IRTY Looking very nice indeed, and a change to the usual crop of military camoflaged schemes!

Looking at the leading edge of the wing and the fact that she’’s going around the World are they the same as the PR variants i.e. full of fuel?

As far as I know (and by the pictures I've seen to date), the extra fuel is in the gun bays as per the TR.IX (a mod used on many currently airworthy Spitfires), and the use of the lower rear fuselage tank which can be seen directly behind the cockpit.

Cheers

Wow! She does look rather nice! Would hate to try and keep her clean, though!

It looks fantastic but I wonder whether the top of the wings should also have been given some of that anti-dazzle black!

Before and after.

G-IRTY / MJ271, looking very different in 2014 (arrived Duxford August 2006):
