Stumbled across this showing some conservation work being carried out on the RAFM Halifax back in 2012, does anyone know if this work is ongoing I personally I would like to see it properly restored. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhtM02dXXVE Richard

Well they did put some parts back such as the bomb aimer transparency framing and canopy bits, the fairing to the rear of the nose turret and the Perspex bubbles at the sides of the nose. This at least makes it look more complete and as recovered instead of the situation that it had been displayed in as a dismantled and gutted wreck.

It always looked a bit daft to me with the restored bits in sharp contrast with the wreckage.

I still have both painting reproductions signed by the full crew that was intended to raise funds for her restoration. Alas. Cheers Cees
