-I am totally certain that there never was such a display. As an avid Blackpool spotter of those times I would have seen it. However the F86 is likely to be the airframe because it was displayed in Luftwaffe scheme And for much of that time wingless...https://forum.keypublishing.com/foru...farm-any-leads

-Scotavia, that is just the sort of evidence i was hoping for ! Many thanks.
All of us have some memories so entrenched, it is almost impossible to persuade people they sometimes remember things which never happened.

-I have a distant memory of a F104 on display, possibly in the uk, that had its nose radome stolen, or was that just in a dream.
As I wrote that I suddenly had another thought that it was possibly the Lasham F104, where did that go.

An online corresepondent is adamant that there was an F-104 on display at Blackpool, owned by an 'Ice cream millionaire'
I surmised he actually might be remembering the Reflectaire F86 Sabre G-ATBF (eventually transported to Mojave desert and ultimately consumed by the USAF drone programme ) but that suggestion has been firmly squashed.
Any knowledge of such a Starfighter ? They have always been rare in the UK, and in the 70's would still be quite current.
