Engine issues aside, being one of the ex-Simmons aircraft that spent years outside it will be interesting to see if it has the same spar problems that affected W5856, LS326 and NF389 (the latter two having been kept indoors all their lives). If so, that's going to require some very expensive and specialised re-work.
The Battle isn't exactly fresh news. It was first mentioned on here nearly 13 years ago and has received honourable mentions in W&R for the last 4 or 5 editions. It may have been under the radar ever since the first mention but after 13 years perhaps it’s ready to break cover.....

A distant photo of a Swordfish fuselage in one of the White Waltham hangars has been posted on FB so we can assume it has arrived? Scheme of white under side and black(?) top, red spinner.

I work in the hangar next door. It arrived yesterday and obviously needs reassembling. The engine is also to be rebuilt. They were still assessing how well it survived the shipping so no indication of timescales as yet.

That’s something different. Usually it’s a case of assessing how well the shipping survived the Swordfish

What and where is the first one Robert?
Sorry, should have put captions. I first saw LS326 at Arbroath in about 1963.
Top Row HS491 Malta, NF389 Lee on Solent 1971?, LS326 Culdrose 1971?
Bottom Row, NF370 Duxford, W5856 Leuchars.

Yeah! It's undergoing a long term rebuild by a forum member, but want him to add to this (if he wants to) sorry about my lack of further details!

I recall a partly assembled Swordfish at Strathallan after the auction https://www.flightglobal.com/FlightPDFArchive/1981/1981%20-%202399.PDF
Did that one go to FAA museum?
