So they are there for the Rugby world cup :) .Just wonder if the Spitfire will be open to visitors ,i wouldn't think they are very common in Japan.

With two Jones on board would be a shame to miss the efforts of Wales...

Some of the inconsistencies are due to the fact that this is a constantly evolving project. No surprise there, to me, both in terms of weather and international politics. I'd guess, however, that it's pretty much a given that the Silver Spitfire was never going to be routed to North Korea! China, not just Hong Kong, may happen, but not North Korea!

At least not intentionally ;)
I guess their schedule is completely in the bin now... not that it was much use anyway. They couldn't even post what airports they would be landing at while they were actually en-route (Van Nuys for instance).

G-IRTY has made quite a lot of progress after her sojourn in Japan, she arrived in Da  Nang today via, I think, Okinawa, Taiwan and Hong Kong. I think that's the longest sea crossing under her belt.

Almost 5 months to the day after it's departure on "The Longest Flight", G-IRTY/MJ271 is due to return to the UK (Goodwood) next week, weather/serviceability permitting (Sunday has been mentioned), after successfully flying around the world.

Currently in Friedrichshafen, very close to IWC HQ in Schaffhausen. Crew buying some more watches? :D

After many years spent as a 'hangar queen' gazing longingly at the sky, I think it's safe to say the dust and cobwebs have well and truly been blown away...

Anyone know if they are going to do a book or DVD about the whole flight? Think a book would sell well if it was well illustrated.
