Aircraft From Bedstead Cadets of No. 1051 Dartford Borough Squadron A.T.C. have just carried out a repair job on an instructional aircraft which is probably record of ingenuity. Badly damaged after a crash landing the wreck of the aircraft, an obsolescent Hawker Hind, was handed over to the cadets for ground training. The machine was stripped in the school quadrangle, all the broken parts replaced with parts manufactured out of odd bits of scrap, old gas barrelling and pieces of salvaged metal, and the aircraft re-erected. Even parts of an old bedstead were used to repair the undercarriage. All the work was done by the cadets themselves undertheir instructors.
