Understood registration was cancelled two or three months ago.

Registration was cancelled because it's now temporarily registered in the US (I believe for f/f, certification, etc) Did it fly yesterday? Sander

I thought it'd been restored to the UK register since it's cancellation...

Thanks Mike J. I prefer the H-75 Hawk of course, but if TFC sends the P40 instead, I also shall enjoy that other curtiss a lot. Cheers, Stieglitz

As I drove past at lunchtime it looked like the Hawk was out on the grass, but it's back in the hangar now...

Ben...Don't do that to me... I'm wondering if it flew now! I drove past at about 9.45 this morning and all looked very quiet.

The Hawk taxiied out around 1300 local , got as far as the Control Tower, did a 180 and was back in the hangar very quickly. It had clearance for a first flight though whether the grass runway not being available might have been relevant (or not).

She taxied again today, and who knows, she may well fly later. There are forum photographers still on location, so watch this space.......

So why don't you story-hungry vultures :diablo: club together and buy the museum a vidi-cam, so you can watch the airfield from you PCs? Other airfields have them. Maybe there could be a live audio feed from the tower too?

I know, but I have to live with this. To be honest, its a Spitversion I realy like, and I prefer seeing that Spit over the Hawk (and that out of my mouth) , but there are other things keeping me from going. I have to "shoot" a 50th wedding anniversary Sunday (by camera, not by MP-40) , so in stead of LFA, it is Zoersel for the Chipmunk meet this year, and a trip to HP57 tomorrow morning to shoot the museum for an UK based mag. I was hoping someone would react mentioning the Spit, and you did. :diablo: BW Roger

When I left at 5pm, the Grace Spitfire was landing for the 3rd time. The Hawk and the Hurricane had been taken back into the hanger where people were working on them, while the Spit EP120 and P40 were still outside on the grass... Good to meet you Darren and Damien..
