Memorial Dedication Day at The Former RAF Hunsdon. Location: Acorn Street Hunsdon, Near Ware, Hertfordshire. A Service Of Dedication Will Be Held On Sunday May 22 At The Former RAF Airfield Of Hunsdon In Hertfordshire. The Airfield Will Be Open For Entry From 1100 AM, The Entrance In Use Will Be In Acorn Street And Manned By ATC Cadets. The P-51 Mustang 'Janie' Will Officially Open The Proceedings With A Flypast At 1245. The Service Of Dedication Led By The Vicar Of Hunsdon, John Risby, Will Then Start At 1315 PM And Run Until 1400PM, The Ware Brass Band And Ware Choiral Society Will Provide The Music And Hymns For The Service, a Hertford And Ware ATC Bugler Will Play The Last Post And The BBMF Lancaster Will Carry Out A Flypast To Close The Service at 1400. (Flypast of Aircraft Subject To Weather). The Guests Attending Include, Squadron Leader Tom Bennet DFC (617 Squadron). Air Vice Marshal Chris Moran RAF. Wing Commander Enrie Walsh RAAF. Wing Commander Grant Crosland RNZAF. Colonel Daniel Edgar RCAF. Christine Leeson-Blondin 'Beatrice' SOE. Squadron Leader Robert Barcley. Flight LT Eric Atkins DFC *KW*. Mark Prisk MP. Ex Hunsdon Based Air and Ground Crew, Standard Bearers From Bomber Command, The RAFA And The Royal British Legion Are Also In Attendance. Military Vehicles, Memorabilia Display Of Aviation Artifacts, And 1940's Music. Please Note There Is Limited Parking On the Airfield, No Parking Whatsoever Is Available In Hunsdon Village Or Acorn Street. No Responsibilty Will Be Taken For Damage Or Theft To Or From Vehicles By The Memorial Organisers Or Landowners.
