My first post after lurking here for some time :)

My 8 year old son has a toy model of the P51 Glamorous Glen III, and was very excited when he recently saw a few clips of the real aircraft on an old Discovery Wings programme about Mustangs

Does anyone know if there are any videos or DVD's available which have more about this particular aircraft ? I've already found the owners website but I'm looking for something that's available in the UK with a reasonable amount of coverage, e.g. an airshow video.

TIA

Cat7

Cat7 if you can find any works on the 357th fighter group, this Mustang belong to this group and there are many photographs in most books I have seen on the market abou this particular group. Also I believe the Discovery Channel sells a VHS or maybe a DVD of this very program. I bought a VHS tape here in states on this very program called " ESCORT TO BERLIN" about the role the P-51 played in escorting USAAF B-24's & B-17's into Germany !
Hope this helps, Ospery books also have some excellent titles on Mustangs in the ETO during WWII. American Ace Chuck Yeager flew with this group during the war ! Glad to hear you son enjoys models and like warbirds...sounds like you guys need a trip to Duxford to see the real thing !

Hope this helps !

Thanks ! I'll follow those up and see what I can find.

We live about an hour from Duxford - thats where we bought the model that started this search for more information :) Weather permitting, I'm taking him to the Flying Legends this year so he can see some in the air as well.

Superb photos - thankyou very much :) I'll show them to him tonight

He's just finished his first Airfix kit, of a Hurricane, albeit with a lot of help from me and wants a Mustang next. Its obviously a case of 'like father, like son' because I started making Airfix kits at about his age and they were the cause of my interest in aviation too.
