-Hi Martin,
It appears at first glance to be the Turbo off a B-17 do you have any more photos?
Cheers

-Please correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember that these General Electric turbosuperchargers were fairly standard and were used on the B-24 and P-47 as well. So finding just one of those turbos gives a clue that it is indeed an american type but no more than that.
Cheers

-Maybe they are the reason the pond is there !

-those supercharger were used on P-38 and P-47 as well... what is weird is that they looked "coupled", and what i know is that the P-47 had the two stage two speed supercharger..
Might sound a lil easy, but we might well be in front of a P-47 wreck, as we all know plane wrecks were often dropped in ponds during the war..

Hi all
this wreckage was found in Germany when a pond was laid dry. It looks like an aircraft part - it is still stuck in the ground and there possibly is more 'material' attached to it, presently not visible.
Anyone recognizes this 'thing' ? At first glance I'd say turbo-charger......
Thanks for your insights.
