Been browsing all the (controversial) threads & realised that apart from fridays pics (overshadowed by the Typhoon mishap) there's no pics of all 3 PR spitfires formating with the Reds (unless I couldn't see for looking) so from sunday, some HISTORIC photos........................

I was not going to bother with any RIAT shots after the comments of late, but seeing as this is a pure historic thread, I thought I would contribute a few of my shots.

Can't a guy try to grab some playtime without the big boys stamping on his toys? ;)
As I said, can't see the wood for the trees, my bad, sue me :D

Can anyone tell me anything about the Harvard that was at RIAT. It is not one I had seen before.

Looks like Bob Warner's aircraft G-BBHK. Last time I saw the aircraft it was based at Kemble, that was 18 months ago.

Lead is BBMF. Left wing is owned by Peter Teichman, right wing by Rolls Royce

Great photographs everyone.

Picking a good location seems to be very important.

Maybe a thread should be opened for the best place to be, at each show, to get those "great shots" ?

Was the display line even further away from the crowd at RIAT 2005 than usual?

Hang On...that means all the pics will be sort of samey, doesn't it? Or shall we get round it by requesting that everyone uses different lenses? ;)

If like RIAT, the show lasts for two days (and assuming you go both days), then I always pick a different position each day. For the Saturday, I was crowd centre as this is where most of the displays concentrate thier efforts. On the Sunday, I picked the landing end of the runway, which gave the landing shots and unusual images like the three Spitfires on the ground.
