And there it was - gone !

Ironic that the one thread here that fizzed with strong opinions and robust contributions /suggestions has been deleted.

Key had three months to salvage the 'update', but did virtually nothing. No wonder the tone got a bit crabby.

The things promised next included edit facilities and subscribed threads with e-mail notifications. I kept a list of the features requiring attention which had been mentioned by forum members so I have them available for future use if necessary.

Seems KEY cannot face up to critical comment..........

They should not have done that. Those of us who have remained faithful to this place deserve better. We were trying to save the forum, and had been promised so much in the last few weeks. Please, Key (whoever you are) tell us your real intentions.

BobKat: I wonder if it's worth your reposting your list.

Laurence, I think we might first invite jamesm to indicate again what projects have been noted for attention by the Key team and what is prioritised for action, if possible with an approximate timescale.

To cater for Key's obvious sensitivity on this matter and hopefully to avoid deletion of this post, I have sent a Private Message to jamesm with a list of outstanding issues. I have invited him to respond either on this thread or by Private Message on the proposed actions. The previous message I sent is still shown as unread in My Account, but we have had the requested reply on the deleted thread.

If the issues can be resolved, and some action is evident, then it is stating the obvious that the need for this thread will disappear.

For those to whom it may apply:

To cater for Key's obvious sensitivity on this matter and hopefully to avoid deletion of this post,

So, please, think carefully before you post a reply to this particular thread. 😥

Better keep things focussed on "technical matters" ❗️ ,

instead of just expressing  "disgust".

Key has already got the latter message over the last few months.... 😒

But I will re-iterate my opinion: The Clock is Ticking ❗️

So, we the customers, (for that is what we are) are not permitted to express our opinions. Strange sort of arrangement: if I am dissatisfied with a major retailer (as an example) I can speak out. Providing I do not libel them I can write what I choose. Wise suppliers take note of what their customers have to say. Key seem to wish to stifle any form of legitimate criticism.  What was written on the other thread was not from one isolated dissatisfied punter with an axe to grind.  Many long term forumites spoke out with (in my view) fair and reasonable criticism.   Many have already left, this latest action may well provoke more to take the same action.

So do we have an edit function now? I notice on Prop Strike's original post that it says "Edited 11th January 2020 at 11.26" in pale grey beside it.

Reminds me of how TIGHAR runs its forums ... which was a major reason I came across the pond to the Key Aero forums. Hmmmmmm ...

Yes, we can edit , which is one development to Key's credit.  The edit box is at the top of the thread under the Sea Fury's tailplane ( on my screeen anyway )

I had a typo in the title, and corrected it.

Thanks, Prop Strike, but I can't see it on mine. It's a start though and will hopefully extend to all browsers (and posts) soon.

I assume the forum complaints thread has gone missing , if they can do that surely they can respond to the messages in it --poor show key poor show :(

Any reputational damage is entirely of Key’s own making.

I know it's Keys ball but if you were going to do an upgrade you would keep all the parts that work and enhance or add to so the neXT generation lots nothing but gained,  this update listed everything and gained nothing. Incredibly sad ncredibly nieve or incredibly stupid.

For me I can stick with its frustrations but feel upset at the loss of such historic information that has not migrated here and the knowledge of members lost

Jamesm and I are now in contact via PM. He will provide me with an update after a meeting to be held later this week which I hope he will be able to share on this thread.

Laurence, I sent you a PM, but you can now ignore this. Maybe you could acknowledge, please, as My Account is still showing two unread messages whereas I think there should only be the one I sent you!

BobKat: Of course we no longer get notifications of replies to subscribed threads or even of PMs, so I did not see your PM to me until 5 minutes ago. I have replied just to see if that works. I agree with your suggestion, even it is now irrelevant.

PS: I tried to edit my last post but can't see any edit box near the Sea Fury! (ref: Prop Strike's comment a few days ago)

Laurence, yes your reply has been received. Thank you.

I think the edit facility must, at the moment, only apply to the thread title which can be edited by the original poster. I still have no edit function for posts. This is, of course, one of the matters raised with jamesm.
