The header's been mailed down, and the pages look  a it more forum-like, but it's been like that for a little while now.

Used to be three posts in five minutes, now it’s three posts in twenty four hours...that’s the change

Perhaps they've decided to paint the barn door long after the horse has escaped?

I used to check in twice a day. now maybe once every 2 months. I do see improvements that make this "workable". Still missing a "mark this forum read" button at the top.

I second that remark!

Also missing is the number of views of each thread which would give an indication of activity.

Maybe there's a good reason for that, BobKat! 😉

Back to just two posts in 24 hours, so the changes have obviously made no difference....

I think it safe to say that the self inflicted damage that Key Publishing did to this forum is now irreparable. The 'big beasts', that once made this forum outstanding, have departed and, after so long, I suspect that the likelihood of them returning probably is nil. With no dispect intended to recent posters, the quality of the debate and the expertise of the input on this forum nowadays is a mere shadow of what formerly it was. But I suspect that the forum will linger on for a while, with new topics and posts getting ever fewer, before Key Publishing decides that it has ceased to justify its existence, on a cost benefit basis, and pulls the plug on it (possibly without prior notice). And me, why am I still here? Although my visits now are sporadic, it is mainly out of curiousity - and perhaps because, after all that has happened, the vestiges of a misplaced sense of loyalty to the forum still exist in me!

AA - I think the problems run deeper.

‘Key.Aero leads the way in the field of aviation history and heritage.’

In recent months I have read a number or false claims in Aeroplane Monthly articles - some by a well known author who should know better. I’ve raised the error in emails but no corrects have been made in the magazine. Do they give a fig about accuracy?

Totally agree with the above post; shame really as I've been a member for nearly 15 years, (although in that time I've brought very little to the forum other than sarcasm, and irony)

I am rarely on here now as well.
It became unusable with the infamous "reboot" and it is a mere shadow of it's former self and I find that desperately sad. I pop back like avion ancien due to that sense of loyalty - 16 years worth - plus failure to find a forum as good as this used to be.
I agree that there will be a day when I come to browse again and it will have just vanished.
