With two of the Europrop TP-400, I would think the provisional 'A400m' would be able to fit in closer to the Hercules/ KC-390 performance bracket (with issues as suggested above)
Clearly the main area is the improvement of the cabin size, most transporters seem to bulk out before they reach max payload. With two engines, there are benefits to maintenance and fuel efficiencies with only two props, though guess engine out performance may be raised?
