J-10B's AESA cooling vent is pretty much the same as the one on F-16E. J-10B looks scarier than F-16E due to DSI air intake.

That looks like a formation light strip to me.
But it doesn't matter as J-10B looks scarier.

Given a UAE pilot and a PLAAF pilot, I'd say it's a fare contest.

Chuck an Israeli or American into either jet and that's your winner.

As for end of Western imperial domination and Syria, Syria has nothing to do with Russia/China and everything to do with Western war weariness and the situation in Syria spiralling into sectarian violence with a large splash of Al Qaeda thrown in.

If the US wanted, it could smash the Syrians with ease. After all the Israelis fly over Syrian air space with absolute impunity.

Had it not been for China and Russia vetoing multiple UN Security Council Resolutions, Assad would have long been long dead by now. It is because of China and Russia that the Syrian people will decide if Assad continues to be president or not.

As you mentioned, Israeli jets can fly over Syria with impunity. J-10B jets piloted by Chinese pilots could easily best F-16E jets by piloted by UAE pilots.

That looks like a formation light strip to me.

Looks like it's a jammer antenna. There three of these on each side. Here's the same left side view.

J-10B is around Mach 2, armed with PL-12. We know it's a deadly plane

J-10B can fly up to Mach-2, that is nice. How is that exciting or radical? America and France were making combat jets doing that in the 1950's! It's armed with the PL-12, great! What is its performance in comparison to the AMRAAM or MICA? Oh yes we don't know. We do know that America and France have been producing Active Radar Air to Air missiles longer then China.

J-10B has at least PESA, most likely AESA.

So you don't even know if its a PESA or an AESA. In other words you have no clue about its performance vs anything else.

It has digital quadruplex FBW far more advanced than the ones on Taiwan's F-16 and Mirage 2000.

What are the technical details of that FBW system, oh yeah you don't even know what type of radar it has.

We know J-10B has Tier 1 avionics amongst the very best in the world.

Well it has avionics, we and even more importantly have no idea of their performance or qualities.

So to sum up, for all the nationalistic chest thumping you haven't got anything to back up your assertions.

In case you haven't noticed Obama is really reluctant to get involved in Syria, especially after Libyan intervention saw warlordism take over in that country, strengthened Al Qaeda and has given them a base of operations for operations into other countries such as Mali.

Turkish F-4 pilots "smashed" PLAAF/PLAN Su-27/J-11 pilots in 2010. That say's it all.

PL-12 is active radar homing with a range of at least 100 km with a speed of Mach 4 or so. That's good enough to shoot anything out of the sky.

So you don't even know if its a PESA or an AESA. In other words you have no clue about its performance vs anything else.

I don't have to. Rafale has PESA and killed the entire Libyan air force with only like 4 planes used. According to a Chinese exhibition poster, J-10B's radar is AESA. In any case, it's top tier technology.

What are the technical details of that FBW system, oh yeah you don't even know what type of radar it has.

It is quadruplex digital FBW derived from the Iron Bird prototype. It's top tier technology. That's all we need to know.

We know it's top tier and as evidence has it, we know it stops Americans from oppressing any country in the world including Syria and protects justice in the world by preventing American imperialism from toppling any country's legitimate head of state. That's good enough in my books.

Syria is a Russian ally. If Obama can invade, he would. It's because he can't. PLAAF could wipe out the entire Turkish air force in less a week if it comes to a war between the two. So don't start with the ahem BS :)

Nice slightly racist trash talk but of not much use. The UAE participated in Red-Flag 2011 with their F-16 Block 60, everything I have read on that visit states they were capable and professional. Considering you can't even decide if it has a PESA or AESA radar again you can't categorically state the J-10B is more advanced. It is potentially advanced but until we learn more it is purely speculation. On the other hand what is installed in the Block 60 is public domain, the systems installed are cutting edge in respect of the US aerospace industry. Actually I have heard the Block 60 described as an F-16 with the electronic guts or an F-35.

If Israel bombs UAE, every UAE fighter pilot probably hides in home ahem yup :)

Oh, found it. J-10B's radar is AESA rather than PESA. The Ruskies also have AESA on MiG-35.

Since when is Israel going to bomb UAE? Why would they do that?

UAE pilots also have combat experience having flown missions during Libyan War. When's the last time any PLAAF pilots got any combat experience? 1979 and then they performed badly!

Israel is a Jewish country. UAE is a Muslim country. Make no mistake, UAE is on Israel's radar oh yes it is! :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%E2%80%93United_Arab_Emirates_relations

any chance you could provide the source for that?

If Turkish F-4s smashed Chinese J-11s it would have been because the Chinese let them out of friendship :eagerness:

Let's be honest. The Turkish air force can't even beat the Syrian air force, let alone the Chinese air force.

Chinese J-11, i.e. a Russian Flanker. All I can say is, we all know what China can do when they produce a direct copy of the Rolls Royce Phantom... Brrrr...

But the UK cannot plant a rover onto the Moon like China can later this year. A RRP is technologically nothing compared to Chang'e 3 :eagerness:

Goldust, no the UK couldn't independently land a Rover on the Moon at the moment. The UK could build the Rover as a number of companies specialise in that technology in the UK and have been doing it far longer then China has. If the UK did want to do it independently then we could certainly do it with suitable investment, the UK has a full understanding of launcher technology and built working rockets that could launch a payload decades ago. We decided instead to invest in the European Space Agency and piggy back our technology on other peoples launchers including yours. The decision to not have a domestic launcher capability bares no relation to having the ability to do it if we set our minds (and money to it). I am impressed that China will be doing as such but it doesn't make me jealous as it is an area that the UK has prior established experience.

Look I understand that you want to show that China has joined the Western world with advanced technology programs, I am not going to go around saying that China has overtaken the West in aerospace and advanced technology in general without any evidence of the case.

Crowing over the fact that China will land a probe on the Moon when it represents something others achieved long ago and the UK could do if it so wanted to invest money that way is Childish.

To drag this once again closer to the topic.

The Ching Kuo A/B models are or have been upgraded to C/D configuration.

This includes a host of improvements, including a strengthened undercarriage, extra fuel, updated avionics, ...etc.

Below is a picture depicting the new cockpit of the C/D model.

No nuke powered rover has ever been put on the Moon, not that I know :eagerness: Chang'e 3 will be the first.

Yet can't get a copy of a CFM56 core to work properly.

Formation lights and nothing else. Yellow strips work on the visible light spectrum, black strips are near infra-red and meant to work with NVG's.

Nope, but nuclear powered rovers have been to Mars, which is far more interesting(and complex) than the Moon. But hey, congrats to making it to the place some countries where 20 years ago.
