Surinamese PC-7's

searching for some pics, I've found this historical info, in a KP thread....:rolleyes: ;

flex297

I know of three PC-7s in Suriname.. But since PC-7s are being listed as active in Surinamese service, there must have been some other aircraft, too..

#479 HB-HMN, serial 111
#480 HB-HMQ, serial 112
#481, serial 113

delivered Oct 1985, returned to Pilatus Mar 1987..

Nice, I am still looking for Surinam PC-7's with Surinam Air Force roundels and serials. If they were ever painted on.
I have seen them only with Swiss ferry registrations.

greetings,
Hendrik

Funny you should mention that. If you examine the image, you can see a white disk on the fuselage; I presume that is where the Suriname roundel was to be placed. Notice also the black rectangular marking on the fin. I surmise that this is where the Suriname registration number would be placed. Chris Thornberg's World Air Forces site lists three PC-7s operated by Suriname, numbers SAF-111, SAF-112, and SAF-113. It also notes that SAF-111's Swiss ferry registration was HB-HMN, and SAF-112's was HB-HMQ. So it looks like the aircraft in your photo was to be SAF-111, Hendrik. Remove the Swiss ferry registrations and the Swiss insignia, add the Suriname roundels and registration numbers, and I think you'll have it. Only thing is- what about the wing markings? I think the best way to determine that would be to look for other aircraft similarly marked with the Suriname roundel, and extrapolate to the PC-7. Will do some research and get back with everybody. Very, very interesting.

Well, there are relatively few images of aircraft from Suriname. However, I have ascertained that the registration numbers on their aircraft are replicated on the top left and bottom right wings, apparently without roundels. I assume there are roundels on the top right and lower left wings, too, but this is only conjecture.

[QUOTE=archangelski;2053567]

I've searched, & found some 'good' video's of former Albanian jets, but all ones in b/w :mad:

this is the ONLY "in flight" COLOR pic I could find of an Albanese jet !! but of a really poor quality :

the marking on the tail is doubtful !!

in fact I'd like to see (in colors !) (& IN FLIGHT) their former roundel, (on a JET ).....................................]

Can you help ??

friendly, Etienne

Google is a good solution but threads friends too : (KERVYN, if you want more, simply ask) but, as GERARD say, rarity in flight !

The Il-14 with the Albanian flag is most likely a VIP aircraft like the A109 below

The same Beagle but now with the recent roundel:

Interesting image from Costa Rica. I have never seen their national insignia presented like that on the wings.

I agree, never seen that before. Here are my collected pics from Costa Rica:

Albanian flag..

Yes, Greg, I've "well" seen the flag in ;

Note the Albanian flag on the tail of the Il-14 in the background of the H-5/Il-28 picture.

But, I prefer this recent 'red' view, at the Tirana Airport ;http://www.tirana-airport.com/?RoseToken=155169220193083155173199198142164107238201157082164160143095145154156152154155089156156154160214184090168180231crc508

(you're right, Gerard, that Il-14 was a VIP version )
