I don't agree! It's a Bassler BT-76. El Salvadore had 3. The one on your pic is no longer in service. FAS 116 and FAS 118 are.
Here's is FAS 118 BT-76 Gunship

The Albanian Il-14 looks like the aircraft that used to fly around the communist leader Enver Hoxha.

Thanks for correcting that. FAS 119 was also in the Escuadrón de Transporte.

I must admit the confusion ! Military or civil turbo conversion of DC-3/C-47 have always particularly bluff me. Basler BT-67A (not BT-76) (Salvadorian number FAS117) is a turbo conversion of C-47A-30-DK of 1944 (c/n 13964/25409) which crashed and is (was) stored for repair/spare parts.

NICARAGUA 'then & now'..

by Googeling through the Air Force's, I've recently discovered this less-known roundel ;
..........................................................at first for this DC-3 ;

.................................and even a 'rural' version ;

in Wikipedia, there is also another (former)simplified triangle version ;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicaraguan_Air_Force

For the Sandinista A/F, using the present roundel, see mainly the full explanations & many views in acig.org ;

......................And now, this is my 'today's' question ; I'd just like to see color photos (in flight :D ) (hello Archangelski :) ) of these rarities ;
...................................................................

friendly yours,

Etienne

Hello Ha27, I understand very well the problem.
As I reply earlier to other members of this thread, they are parts of a very old collection of books of my own (more than 20 or 30 years old for the most recent posted here. By then, of course, they are not really crystal clear or 20 Megapixels ones. I share these only because most are showing real rarities or no more in activities aircraft. I have no commercial interest and I'm not altering the properties.
By the same logic, most (if not all) pictures posted on thread like this one are copies of web pictures found on other sites without mention of captions (probably also copyrights).
If this pose problems, all right, have to work differently for future post.
Friendly, archangelski.

Etienne, note the roundel on the fuselage of the Nicaraguan T-6. They did use a blue-yellow-red roundel on the fuselage (see the P-51 profile), but the colors on the T-6 are reversed. Could this be an unusual variant, or just an effect of the black/white photo? Not sure, but looks like triangle roundels on the underside of the wing. I will check with some contacts about this one. It looks very odd to me. Thanks for posting it!
