It seems like an expensive and uncomfortable way to fly. But it sounds more fun than flying on a Concorde. https://medium.com/war-is-boring/26ad41ba71

I can't imagine it being a comfy ride...

Why not?

Fairly high wing loading would mean a pretty comfortable ride.

I believe there is a photo of the mock-up (or perhaps drawing?) in Gordon's Aerofax book on the MiG-25/MiG-31. I don't have my copy with me right now as I'm TDY, but perhaps someone else can confirm?

My Aerofax is out on loan - but I remember it being in there - meanwhile a Google of 'MiG-25 bizjet' finds it.....

I'd venture to guess a modern biz-jet offers a comfier ride than a super-fast relic from the Cold War.

The MiG-31 has plenty of extra airframes to convert. Putin should have a pair for his personal trips to check on his gas ventures.

FWIW, I took these photos os a poster at the Gelendzhik Hydro Aviation show in 2008.

They show a rocket bizjet called the 'Fanstream' - looks like its based on the Sukhoi Su-34...

I have no further info.........

I do hope the SPS Fanstream makes it into production. I can't get over the fact that it is based on the Su-34 (one of my favorite attack aircraft).

Doesn't the Su-34 already have some sort of mini-galley already? Seems like a cool idea albeit crazy...I'd sure like to see it get built though.

The biggest issue to me is the insanely improper fore-aft CG compared to the C/L.

The only way to lift the nose would be to apply so much angle on the horizontal stabilizers that they would also function as air brakes!

That thing needs both canards larger than the horizontal stabilizers mounted just forward of the passenger windows and for the leading edge of the wing to be moved forward to about where the lerx starts now just to fly controllably.

Urban myth - that has been disproved.

See the frwd section as a big empty tube. No weight compared to the original.

Also, interestingly, the extended wing tip makes the MiG looking even more closely to the mighty Vigilente

4 jet engines and a rocket motor...where's all that fuel supposed to go? Can't see it having much of a range.
