Add news development from Tanggo Post. This come from CNN Indonesia on line. The AF spokesman reinstate that the overall aimed is for 6 AW101 VIP helicopters as 5 years defence plan ststed of 6 VIP Helicopters.
On other local media, an AF source indicated that they are more prefer AW 101 then Cougar (where DI/IAe got contracts from EADS to manufacture some of fuselage and tail boom), but will still contracting DI/IAe for more Cougars (up to 16 from present 9 already contracted). This seems to calm down local opposition that fuelled by DI/IAe criticsm on AW101 choices rather than Cougar VIP version.
Local internal forum speculated that TNI-AU got special prices from AW that want to up load some of their AW101 VIP which previoudly intended to India.
Poland’s new defense minister Antoni Macierewicz said earlier this week he was inclined to repeat the helicopter tender process, although reports from Poland suggest that such a move is dependent on negotiations with another government department over the offset program the work would provide.
[...]
[The new administration] has been highly critical of the helicopter contract [in the past], in particular, stating that the tender should have gone to a manufacturer with a larger footprint inside Poland. While Airbus has agreed to produce the H225M in country at a facility in Lodz, it is not an incumbent in Poland unlike competitors AgustaWestland and Sikorsky both of which have facilities in the country thanks to their takeovers of PZL-Swidnik and PZL-Mielec respectively.
Indonesian President decided not to give agreement with AF plan for up to 9 AW101 procurement (with 3 for VIP and 6 for General Combat specs). This after very public battle between AF and IAe/DI which lobby hard to Psrliement and public sentiments on scutling the deal in favor for Cougar/Cacaral version which IAe has long cooperation with Airbus Helicopters.
the CH-53GA-variant would remain operational with the GAF through to at least 2030 and possibly beyond. However, with the upgrade programme set to conclude in 2016 the GAF has now decided to replace the fleet with a new type entirely from 2020 to 2025.

The Chinese aircraft [from avicopter] – being fitted with a Chinese-produced variant of Turbomeca’s Ardiden 3C-, known as the WZ-16 – has so far failed to make its first flight.
