But the russians love to stage a lot of their military for the populace. They have Pak-Fa doing all sorts of stuff in the air showing off to the world how great their aircraft is but they don't video its weapons bay opening? Come on now! That is not the russian way. I'm probably in the majority when i say, if there's no pics or video it didn't happen. I don't know what the big deal is...they are just weapons bay. Just one pic or short vid is all it takes.
I'm more interested in the PAK FA's side weapons bay -- I can imagine how the ventral weapon bays open, but the side weapons bay for the SRAAMs are quite an interesting arrangement, I'm not sure where the hinges are or even the overall shape of the panels.

Impressed with the J-20 fit and finish. The design has come a long way. That, and frankly this is one bird that looks better in the air than on a runway.

Is the L-15's radome really any smaller than the J-7's? The radar was likely developed from that line of technology.
The J-7 shock cone is VERY small, smaller than the MiG-21s. Guizhou have had more experience with the J-7 airframe with their JJ-7 and JL-9 aircraft. Perhaps its related to the Q-5 somehow? Anyway it's a unique radar, which itself is odd since the PLAAF is moving towards a more uniform mass upgrade of capabilities rather than piecemeal upgrades. It was probably developed for export only. Which really brings me to another point, did the L-15Z/L-15AFT sale UNDERMINE a potential JF-17/FC-1 sale? Is the
$100 million sale ($16.6 million each with equipment, weapons, radar and crew training package) of the more combat oriented L-15AFT a future threat to sales of the JF-17 in 3rd world markets?

i am a bit underwhelmed with the size of the armament bay considering the size of the jet. I thought they could have more room extending further toward the back of the body.

I don't necessarily disagree with that. Looks like it will have similar limitations to the F-22 when it comes to A-to-G munitions.

And back at CAC, one J-20 is testing with what appear to be 4-drop tanks?

looks great and very influenced by Russian camo
There is nothing special about that camouflage. Many people use it
it was a Swedish invention. the US uses it, China, Russia. it is normal
HOWEVER
China is the first one to combine the use of stealth paint AND m90 camouflage.
the US just uses stealth paint evenly and has not figured out how to apply it in more variations
Russia is using conventional paint with RAM

The J 20 is more of a "hey look, I have a 5th gen stealth fighter" project than the Pak Fa is.
that is a fake picture. but I don't blame you for being tricked as Chinese youth are very good at graphics
the real Pak-fa bay can only carry two missiles.
see the pak-fa bay test bed on the su-47. so most likely 4 missiles. 2 in each bay.

very difficult to tell from low resolution pictures.
but if it is 4 drop tanks, then the j-20 likely will have the longest range of all the 5th generation aircraft in existence.
