Yes. AL-31FN Series 3 for all J-10C from the start.

Indeed ... the only problem right now is: With these numbers of all J-10B and Cs known and even assuming the J-20 is using the same engine, there are way more fighters operational than engines purchased; at least confirmed.

They probably bought a much larger number from Salut. Also, whats with chit-chat that China is modifying the AL-31F (FN?) in-house especially the engines used in the J-20? https://cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif

What are the curent estimates for the 4.5 and 5th gen fighter in the PLAAF? From what I recall,

J-10B - 56?
J-10C - 100+?
J-16 - 3 to 4 batches?
J-20 - 24+?

In addition (excluding attrition),
4th gen - J-10A/AS - 250+?, J-11B - ??, Su-30MKK -76, J-11A - 95, Su-27SK/UBK - 78
3rd gen - J-8F/DF/HF - ??
Older - J-7EG/L - 260+?, J-7G/G2 - 80

How is this Chinese air power content? That's like posting this in US air power thread, had the plane involved been F-16 instead of JF-17.

agreed. but you must forgive Golden Draggy. For years he's trying to portray himself as from China but hes really from South Asia. hence he gets excited when it comes to anything about India or Pakistan.

In the early 2000s, I remember rumors of China procuring the 'Kolchuga' system from Ukraine. I wonder whether the system in pic below (on the right) is related to that?

Good progress in the WS-19 program (Engine, mainly for J-35/FC-31 and possibly future blocks of JF-17) -

https://twitter.com/dafengcao/status...10780915654658

Benefitted from the design and materials of WS-15 engine, it only took one year to complete the design, took half a year to complete the experimental verification of 1st engine, took one third the time of engine manufacturing compared with before.

Does anyone have information like what range the klj-7a radar's side arrays can track?

IMO, small aperture side arrays with a "smallish" number of TR modules should be able to perform GMTI and surface target track out to 15km in clear weather. Rain reduces the range. It would take several minutes to build the initial SAR map, depending upon the dimensions of the area of interest. Small AOIs significantly reduce the time needed to build a SAR map. That is why you need to cue with ESM which has good pointing performance. 15km is likely well within point defense SAM range, so the small side array is only useful in permissive environments.
