the real full version of this model
They redesigned the vertical stabs completely? It looks pretty ugly from this angle.

FC-31 Weapons arrangement:

some very flexible arrangements and load outs. it would be a great multi role fighter and attack airplane.
its internal capacity is probably slightly higher than pak-fa, but less than j-20 and f-22

Looks like the JL-9 has finally snagged a foreign buyer, the Sudanese Air Force. Probably to fill the advanced trainer role that they currently lack, rather than a more combat oriented role like the Zambian L-15s.

The model of L-15 ordered by Zambia is the L-15Z, which have a PESA combat radar and have seem to have been transferred to a combat unit (15 Squadron). We don't know what sort of FTC-2000 is being ordered by Sudan, but given that they already operate aircraft like the Fulcrum, Fencer, F-7M, putting a small order of just 6 JL-9s in a combat role would be a bit unusual. There are proposed variants with a variety of combat radar though and there is a possibility they could be used to retire some of Sudan's more antiquated aircraft.

I am surprised that the FC-31 does not have side weapon bay's like the J-20, was there any reason given by SAC as to why they did not add side weapon bay's?

Size ... simply size !
These bays would be simply too large even for a PL-10.

One question to those who may know more regarding Chinese attrition figures
"There has been a string of J-10 accidents over the past few years, the most recent on September 28, when an aircraft crashed near Yangcun air base in Tianjin reportedly after hitting a bird.
In May, another J-10 crashed in Taizhou , Zhejiang.
"Three J-10 crashes were reported last year — one each in Shenyang, Huzhou and Taizhou.
"In November 2014, a J-10B fighter jet crashed in suburban Chengdu, injuring at least seven people on the ground."
This report indicates that there are 7 known have crashed so far in the past 3 years, from 2014 onwards. How many more happened before that?

the FC-31 is roughly the size of the F-35 (maybe its a bit longer). the F-35 also doesn't have side bays, just 2 bays. the X-32 had 2 side bays, but no bottom bay.
I don't think you'll find a 2 bay plus 2 side bay combo unless the aircraft is at least the size of the F-22.

Pray tell what an L-15 can do that an FTC-2000 cannot do? They both have pretty much similar limitations.
