New Delhi | Nov 17, 2009
In remarks that could stoke controversy, a top Indian Air Force official today said women may be recruited as fighter pilots provided they do not become mother till a certain age.
I guess that's fair enough considering the finacial investment in their training

The first female boss of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds aerobatic team based at 15 Wing in Moose Jaw will officially take command on Thursday.
LCol Carmichael is not the 'BOSS' - aka 'Snowbird 1' - as some may conclude... she is the Commanding Officer of 431 Squadron which is much larger than the Snowbirds display team.

On the icy Thanksgiving morning of Nov. 23, 1943, Hazel Ah Ying Lee, a Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP), attempted a landing of the new bomber she was test-flying solo to Great Falls, Mont. She collided with another pilot flying too close because he didn't have his radio on, and both planes exploded into flames. Ms. Lee, 32, one of the 1,074 elite “flygirls” in the pioneering program, was killed in the crash.

Col. Dawn Dunlop, the first woman to fly the F-22 Raptor, will soon achieve another milestone when she becomes the first female fighter test pilot to lead an Air Force wing.
Dunlop is set to take command of the 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., on June 4.
A 1988 Air Force Academy graduate, Dunlop began her aviation career as a T-38 Talon instructor pilot and was among the first women flying Air Force fighters once the ban on female fighter pilots was lifted in 1993.
After flying operational F-15E Strike Eagles for 2 1/2 years, she was accepted into the Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards in 1997 and began flying F-15 tests mission the following year. Full Story
