MiG-21-93 is an upgrade programme, not a version. Furthermore, though I don't know exactly the current state of the Indian MiG-21bis UPG or Bison programme (what is in fact the MiG-21-93) but the number of aircraft to be upgraded is 125. At least the number of MiG-21F remained below this figure.

It should be possible to find more than ten photos of operational SMTs but I can't remember more than three or four pictures of MiG-21F (not to confuse with MiG-21F-13).

By the way - the picture of a pair of "Soviet" MiG-21s you posted is a bad fake showing photoshopped Czech MiG-21MF / MFN.

OK..

I think, the silver 21 with opened braking chute is also a photoshopped polish MF .

If you have photos of -F or -SMT, please take up here.

Thank you for the corrections.

Does the RuAF still operate any Fishbeds or have they all been phased out?

Also, would like to learn more about the MiG-21R and how it differed from the M/MF and bis.

Some informative photo of the -R version.

Egypt used the MiG-21RF version.
It has a special camera equipment under the cockpit.

Bulgaria had MiG-21MFRs.

These are MiG-21MFs, without the gun, but equipped with the -Rs recce "tools".

Canpark dude,

Since Albania had only 12 J-7 in its inventory and later lost two of them , I have the impression we have seen by now pics of every J-7 left in the country. In terms of modelling those ac are rather monotonous. They are all painted in the whitish camo with only the numbers changing. Howewer the following bad quality pic depicts an exemplary with seemingly the cocpit frames painted in dark green.

Scarcest MiG-21 variant is F, followed by S.

You forget the MT. Only fifteen built, and i don't think i've ever seen a pic.

I think this is the origin of the "afghan-bulgarian" camo pattern.
