Considering the dumbness of the bomb and the lack of any computer targeting equipment and the well-known payload-range characteristics of the MiG-21, the attack of a 4-ship (do they have so much) MiG-21 strike must be ... a joke.
Sad we don't have F-104G to spare any more, it would considerably increase the punch of the CAF.
Indian MiG-21s actually achieved surprisigly accurate hits on runways etc during attacks on Pakistani airbases during the 1972 war while only using the standard sight and dumb ironbombs. These strikes eventually assured Indian airsuperiority over East Pakistan (todays Bangladesh), and thus the final Indian victory in the war.
Pakistani Starfighters had a tougth time holdig their own against IAF Fishbeds though, and at least one was shot down ;)

interesting monochrome markings choice. Any more if overhaul will include upgrades, and which specific ones? Any new weapons systems, or radar upgrades?
Regarding any potential upgrades apart from comm/IFF equipment and probably GPS, and POSSIBLY a MFD replacing the old radar screen- but until confirmed or infirmed no idea- i won't expect much more than that. I think the most the factory offers is integration of R-73 but i don't think Croatia has them, right?

What is the life of a MiG-21bis? I read in an article on Serbian and Croatian MiGs that it was 3.200. OTOH Finnish MiG-21 were retired with a maximum of 1.700 hours.

Very nice photos, Mikoyan 29. By the way, can you tell me what the front of windshield is? It is so strange vs. other Mig-21 Bis. Thank you!

I've got to say, I love the fact that the Croatian AF is hanging on to its '21s. And they look great in those monochrome markings too.
