Looks very good.
Any news on the aircraft trials or even any speculation of any purchases from Russia?
Well there seem to have been some "Touch & Go" stuff but not landings. That'll probably take some time. They have no experience when it comes to landing on a aircraft carrier. This is the very 1st. No speculations of late regarding purchases from Russia for now.

Got to agree with TR1 there. Signature management is about a lot more than a few angled hull plates. Acoustic and IR attenuation is every bit as important as radar cross section. As I understand it propulsion is a pair of big high-speed diesels...do we know if these are rafted or not etc?. They then appear to have copied the French concept of bolting a highly reflective SAM mount on the back of a 'notional' RCS managed design as well...which seems a touch odd if the intent is really to produce a properly RF 'stealthy' hull?.
Last thing can someone advise what this hull is for?. Its on the big side for coastal patrol detail but lacking key facilities that true-OPVs need...not least organic air?. The only role that this seems to fit is the old patrol corvette tasking and that levels the 056 more with the Russian Pr. 21631 than the larger and more capable 20380?. Why did China not simply go with an upgunned Pattani design if the requirement was for an armed OPV?.

056 goes on sea trials
China can now make stealth ships as best with other countries.
stealthier compare to this..
I agree with TR-1 and Jonesy, plus compare to Soobrazitelny rather than Stereguschy

these kind of ships are not safe. poor fire control management. that is why one of them burn down. i feel sorry for the sailors who have to sail on it. that is why china is desperately trying to replace Hangzhou

056 seems to be replacing the 037 class. So far it is replacing the patrol/strike subvariants of 037. It remains to be seen if it will be replacing the subchaser variants as well. Since 037 subchasers are obsolete as it is, 056, even in its current form, can be only an improvement in that role as well.

None of them "burned down".

De-contamination..... (as practised by USN)....
Ken
Sure, it can be used also for de-contamination, but normally it is used as contamination prevention. So you switch on this "pre-wetting" before you have to pass e.g. a fallout area

Well, actually ...
531 SOOBRAZITEL'NY #190 Severnaya 14.10.2011 128th surf ships bde BAL +
20380-II. Keel laid down on May, 2003. 2009: painted, planned for sea trials 2010. 14.10.2011 entered Navy. 10.2011 tactical sea exercises. 04.2012 control exercises, arty firings. 02.09.2012 fire aboard during exercises in Denmark.
There may have been a fire on board last september, but the crew extinguished it in about a good hour. The fire location was the stack. Cause was either electrical wire short out or human error.
Also, you seem to be referring to a Sovremenny destroyer, which is a 1980s design, obtained by China. Not really a good comparison. Still:
In 2002 China ordered another two Sovremenny class destroyers from Russia, for a total of 4 ships in service by 2010. The two ships are said to be the modified Project 956EM variant, which will be equipped with improved weapon systems and sensors. The first ship (pennant number 138) was launched in April 2004 and was delivered to China on 28 December 2005. The second ship (pennant number 139) was launched in July 2004 but the scheduled delivery date was postponed due to a fire accident that took place onboard the ship in April 2005.

Looks like the AL31 powered prototypes were used for the initial trap and launch trials.
Also looks like they have adopted American style deck handling, considering the work they have done observing the Brazilian navy carrier Sao Paulo plus the large amount of information about American carrier operations in the public domain that is logical.

The antiskid coating used on the Vikramaditya's deck seems to be quite different from that used on the Varyag.

I don't see anything stealthier compared to Steregyshy. In fact the radars are far less integrated unlike the 20380's mast.
In fact the 056 is a positively pedestrian ship. What is impressive about the class is the speed of construction.
You are such a hopeless fanboy.
