The aircraft will be the centre of a museum display in the event’s popular Vintage Village, which transports visitors back to the 1940s. On the museum’s stand, themed ‘Summer of Spitfire’, it will be possible to take a look inside the cockpit. After the show, PM651 will be put on display in Cosford’s War in the Air hangar alongside Spitfire I K9942, the world’s oldest surviving example of the Supermarine fighter, as part of a programme of events and activities under the ‘Summer of Spitfire’ title.

Other RAFM aircraft confirmed for the show’s ground displays include the Gloster Gladiator I, HS Harrier GR3, de Havilland Devon, Percival Provost T1 and Percival Pembroke C1.
