COVID-19: UK Seeks United Approach

Like the rest of Europe, the UK is grapping with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Irrespective of their size or previous profitability, all airlines are facing the same problems, as Louise Rose Jones reports from London.

Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, easyJet and Ryanair met with government ministers to discuss the crisis facing the UK aviation industry.

AIRLINES ACROSS the UK are reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic and have drastically reduced their flight schedules as a result. Swathes of Europe, including the UK, have been in lockdown for weeks.

The United States extended a European travel ban initially covering the 26 states within the Schengen free movement zone, but this was widened to include the UK and Republic of Ireland just days later.
