Fleet Air Arm Sea Venom insights from 1954

An interesting report on the Royal Navy’s first Sea Venom squadron during its work-up at RNAS Yeovilton, as featured in the July 23, 1954 issue of ‘The Aeroplane’

The 1950s was a period of rapid development in aircraft design and many air arms were upgrading their fighter/ground attack forces to jets. The Sea Venoms of 890 Naval Air Squadron was the Fleet Air Arm’s first jet all-weather squadron.
