JetBlue reveals London schedule and pricing

The New York-based carrier is ready to begin its first foray across the Atlantic

JetBlue has finally revealed its highly anticipated London schedule, confirming that it will be flying to Heathrow when it launches transatlantic services for the first time on August 11.

The New York-based carrier says it will link JFK direct with the hub and from September 29, it plans to add rotations to Gatwick, allowing for a total of 14 flights per week to the UK.

The airline plans to disrupt the highly competitive transatlantic market with increased levels of service for lower prices through its Core economy and premium Mint experiences.

“The pandemic has opened doors to London’s two busiest airports, and we look forward to bringing customers low fares and great service at both Heathrow and Gatwick,” said Robin Hayes, chief executive officer, JetBlue. “JFK-LHR, the single largest international air travel market from the US, has long suffered from outrageously high fares for far too long, especially in premium cabins. We’re ready to change that with a price point and experience that will impress even the most discerning transatlantic flyers.”

The firm has rostered new Airbus A321LR aircraft with 24 redesigned Mint suites, 117 core seats all contained within the Airbus’ new Airspace cabin interior. JetBlue is set to take delivery of three further examples this year, all operating on the JFK routes.

Commenting on the choice of airports, Hayes added: “We’ve always said that JetBlue would serve multiple London airports, and we’re pleased to have secured a path at Heathrow and for long-term growth at Gatwick, which offers speed, low costs, and convenient accessibility into Central London.”

JetBlue plans to expand its transatlantic offering next year with the addition of a Boston/Logan-London route set to launch for the summer season.
