Evolution and progression
Dear PC Pilot,
Firstly, let me say thank you for a wonderful mag that supports and enhances this wonderful hobby of flight simulation. My interest in aviation goes back to when I was a child but my interest in being at the controls goes back to the age of 14, when I joined the Air Training Corps (Air Cadets). I got to be at the controls of a de Havilland Chipmunk and then a Vickers Varsity twin-engine bomber trainer.
In 2001, we visited my brother-in-law in Houston Texas USA and he showed me a flight simulator on his PC. I was hooked. My first sim was Flight Simulator 2004 ‘A Centenary of Flight’ run on a PC controlled by a simple joystick. I then progressed to three monitors and a head-tracker. This was followed by the purchase of Saitek controllers and instruments, a graphics card upgrade and I also started building my hangar.
