As the magazine celebrates its 40th birthday, we chat to Peter Arnold about how he came to be its Spitfire expert, the feature on his Seafire F.46 restoration from 1982… and his favourite ever cover.

Peter Arnold started writing for FlyPast a few months after its launch in the summer of 1981, so it seems only fitting that on the magazine’s 40th birthday, he shared some stories about what it’s been like writing for it for four decades.
