Rapid testing facility inaugurated at Southampton Airport

The introduction of the service follows the opening of two other sites based at Glasgow and Aberdeen

Southampton Airport has recently implemented new rapid Covid-19 testing facilities, following the successful introduction of this service at the two other AGS operated hubs – Aberdeen and Glasgow.

Customers are able to obtain both a PCR test, which takes 12 hours to reveal results, and the antigen type which takes just 15 minutes.

“The introduction of these fantastic on-site testing facilities will not only provide our passengers with a quick and convenient service, they will be instrumental in providing support to our safe restart plans as international flights resume following the lifting of restrictions earlier this month,” said Steve Szalay, operations director at Southampton Airport.

Onsite testing at Southampton will be operated by TAC Healthcare Group, with ICTS security teams currently facilitating the services at all three hubs.

Phil Webb, CEO of C7 Health – parent company of TAC Healthcare Group – added: “TAC is delighted to further support ICTS and AGS and through our continuing advancement in technology allowing us to promote a more efficient service that will support the return to air travel in a safe and efficient manner.”

Passengers are able to use the walk-in or drive-through option at the south coast facility to obtain a PCR test.
