In its May 31, 1967 issue ‘Aeroplane’ detailed trials of a novel intermodal concept for how to travel to an airport with a lounge being attached to a helicopter

SKYLOUNGE ON TEST

THE prototype of the Budd Company's new flying mobile lounge, officially designated the Budd XB-1 Skylounge, was unveiled at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport recently. The Skylounge is being developed for the Los Angeles Department of Airports with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development financing two-thirds of the costs of a $735,000/one-year feasibility study, and project participants contributing the remainder.
