When Singapore Airlines operated Concorde... for a week

British Airways and Air France were the main users of Concorde, but there were two other airlines who wanted a piece of the supersonic pie but didn’t want to commit to buying the jets themselves, as Key.Aero reports

Both Singapore Airlines and Braniff International Airways borrowed the aircraft from the French and British carriers in the late 1970s. On these occasions, the arrangements were extremely short-lived, especially compared to the type’s more than 30-year career.

Originally, 18 airlines signed up to purchase the supersonic jet, but one by one, 16 of them downscaled and eventually pulled out entirely from the project, leaving just the two flag carriers.
