-Trouble is films have to be made for the majority of people who are NOT aircraft enthusiasts ,we only cover a small percentage. On the positive at least something is being made.

-At least no one here has complained that there are no UK forces in the film. ?
BTW: this layout still leaves a lot to be desired...but the emoji feature works great.
Good to see they got the important stuff right....

-Having seen it I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that was actually good! Granted the CGI was somewhat Star Warish, but it told the story, ans as stated from both sides of the conflict, but did hit the major, and a few lesser, points. Even my wife enjoyed it and she isn't into history.
All in all I thought it was money well spent for a entertaining movie which may have educated and possibly inspired some audience members.
Cheers then,
Itch

Just seen "Midway". It's not bad, but it'll never be considered one of the greats. It does cover a lot of ground (and sea) in it's 2 hours plus running time, but saying that it does leave a lot out. For example, two significant aircraft types (one from each side) are very conspicuous by their absence, and a few events (like the Battle of the Coral Sea) are skimmed over or left out entirely. Though it's still worth giving it a look, despite the over abundance of CGI. Like with" Battle of Britain", you get the perspective of both the American and Japanese sides, more or less equally, something you didn't get with Pearl Harbor. And, as to the main difference between this and that, as I see it, "Midway" does, at least, feel like it was made for grown ups.
