Having become a public exhibit in the Västerås Flygmuseum, a Flug Werk FW 190A-8/N is set soon to take to Swedish skies
During the late afternoon of 14 June 2017, a Flug Werk FW 190A-8/N touched down at Västerås airport in Sweden, signifying the realisation of a long-held dream on the part of Niclas Baath and his friends Henrik Lundh, Niclas Amren, John Miles and Robin Miles — all pilots, united by one desire. Finally, they had their own warbird, one of Flug Werk’s sought-after replicas of a Focke-Wulf Fw 190, parked in their hangar.
Under the German registration D-FWSE, the aircraft had undergone an extensive flight test programme at Manching airfield in Bavaria, starting on 23 May 2017. Having completed the process successfully, it was subsequently ferried to Sweden by test pilot Klaus Plasa. Once the FW 190 had arrived at its new home west of Stockholm, things went very quiet for a long time — but not as far as Niclas Baath and his colleagues were concerned.
