Classic airliner repainted in Berkshire

The Museum of Berkshire Aviation’s Handley Page Dart Herald G-APWA has been professionally repainted by Cladspray Solutions

The classic airliner was one of the last to be built at Woodley, Reading and was flown by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh on a tour of South America. After its retirement, Whiskey-Alpha was ‘rescued’ from Southend Airport and returned to Woodley where it was refurbished. The Duke unveiled a plaque at the museum in 1997. The aircraft had been looking a little tired in recent times, so a decision was made to have the 1959-built machine repainted. With thanks to David Scott
