I always though choppers excelled to planes in some areas:

- CAS: A helo can acquire moving targets (tanks) much faster than a plane. 1st it can hover whereas a plane will pass at 300 knots. One helo can eliminate 6-8 tanks while a plane will kill one or two before flying over the target. Im not sure but a (plane) pilot must lock on on each target individually, which takes time. It's not like in video games where you can automtically lcok on to the next target in sight.

- An aircraft has a hard time shooting helos. Helos are still more manouvrable than planes, by which I mean they can turn instantly whereas a plane has to turn in large circles. There's no 6 o clock in a chopper practically speaking. He simply turns and has the plane in sight, ready to fire a fox 2. The plane has just so much time to lock on before he flies past, receiving a sidewinder on his tail thereafter. If things go wrong, the chopper can easily evade and drop below tree level, where it will be invisible to the plane or its AAMs.

Correct me if Im wrong, but I think helos still excell in these two points.
