A-192M No.1 was delivered for the first 22350 in December 2013 by MZ Arsenal.

When will it be installed and ready for sea trials?

France warns Russia of 'targeted measures'

The European Union will consider "targeted measures" against Russia if tensions do not start easing in Ukraine's Crimea region, France's foreign minister warned Moscow on Monday.

"If there is not in the coming hours a very quick de-escalation, then we will decide concrete measures such as the suspension of all talks on visas, suspension of economic agreements and concretely that means that ties will be cut on lot of subjects," Laurent Fabius told BFM TV.

Could such measures affect the LHDs currently under construction in both Russia and France?

PARIS, March 3 (Reuters) - The crisis in Ukraine has not so far reached the point that the French government is considering halting the sale of assault warships to Russia, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on Monday.

Asked on RTL radio whether France would suspend the deal, Fabius said: "We aren't there. For the moment we are trying to stop the Russian movement in Ukraine and maintain, or rather, establish dialogue."

What other points of exposure are there for Russian military-industrial programs? I know Su-30SM has some western gear.

Nothing major, but some important things.
Some thermal equipment, laser gyros, etc.
Su-30SM has a Thales HUD. Would be nice to see it replaced with the Russian HUD from the Su-35, but I will admit the French one looks pretty cool ;) .

I expect all these French defense companies to make it clear to their gov they don't want these lucrative deals to be affected.
Inside though I would be so happy if the overpriced floating barges were cancelled. So so happy.

Laser gyros ? From whom ? Last I remember it was Frenchies that were interested in Russian laser gyros ? Okay that was long ago. but still ... seriously ?

I'm hoping after the dust settles Putin and Co will start to diversify Russia economie and there will be a modernization program a cross Russia instead of ******* talking about it and on the double.

BTW, don't remember which agency (either RIA or Lenta) Minstral deal go's ahead.

Mistral is very paltry sum of $1.5b deal. infact Russia can offer direct employment to French workers at higher pay and lower taxes.
Russia is going to profit from sanctions. Russia does not take France seriously so not even responding to French politicians babbling.

French Auto industry and Airbus is depended on Russia.

Alcoa bought the Samara and Belaya Kalitva aluminium processing plants in 2005, and has since invested more than $540 million in facilities, including modern control technology for a forging press that remains the sole source globally of some particularly large products.

You really don't know facts don't you?
Aluminium? Titanium? Are you serious? Look at production levels by country.

Why so?

Mistral are fine ship forma the amphibious warfare, the only weakness being a little small for the typical force structure on the black berets.

Bit still versatile and moderna LHD are they, maybe only the spanish Juan Carlos would have ben a better choice.

I'm still wondering why russian MoD didn't purchase some LSD as well.

They may have :P

In other news, as has been already reported, old Kara-class hulk 'Ochakov' indeed has been sunk as a blockship in Donuzval Bay: http://www.demotix.com/news/4108631/kiev-accuses-russia-sinking-cruiser-ship-blockade-ukraine-fleet#media-4108401
Sad sight!

Yes but tell that to the BBC. The way they reported it you'd think it was an active unit that was scuttled.

Well, BBC is consistently a joke when it comes to Russia.

LOL!

I meant the Foudre class LSDs, French Navy is getting rid of them as not strictly relevant given present budgetary constraints.

They would still be a quantum leap compared to legacy landing ships requiring to actually bring them ashore.

Looking at their US Navy's mentors, the Widbey Island LSDs, it could be feasible to redesign the hull to make some of them as logistic ships.

Mistral, Foudre and some logistic hull would make a quite impressive amphibious warfare force.

France sold Foudre to Chile in 2011. Only Siroco is still in French service. She's scheduled for retirement & sale, but there have been stories that Chile has first dibs, & may take her.

I knew about the Foudre itself, I was wondering why Russian Navy hadn't a look at Foudre's blueprints on top of the Mistral's deal.

I suspect at the time, French Government would have loved to sell them (the blueprints), along with the Mistrals, even without actually building any for Russian Navy.
