Black Square has announced the TBM 850 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been upgraded to version 1.1.
The new version adds major aerodynamic improvements: control surface dimensions now match POH (Pilot Operating Handbook) values, stability in gusty or turbulent conditions has been increased and propeller drag has been improved, resulting in less floating.
Other aerodynamic fixes include correct propeller beta angle, improved torque and ITT tables resulting in more accurate performance, increased take-off torque effects and more accurate trim positions.
Icing effects and the de-icing boots have also been adjusted so the boots inflate with more accurate sequencing, ice formation on the windows will now crystallise from the outside-in, airframe ice will remain when leading edge ice is shed and the heated cowlings will now de-ice separately.
St. Elmo's fire and static discharge modelling has also been added with airframe electrical charge calculations, resulting in windshield static discharge effects and St. Elmo's Fire corona discharge.
Other highlights include functional wheel chocks that keep the aircraft still when the brakes are released and the chocks are deployed in the baggage compartment.
Finally, the exterior lighting has been improved. New strobe lights have been added with disorienting lights bounce effect in clouds and the landing, navigation and taxi lights are now brighter. The landing light housing illumination is now visible from the cockpit and solar calculations result in smoother cockpit display backlighting.
The Black Square TBM is available on Just Flight's website for £29.99.
