Now clearly a drone, I was wondering is it actually an X47 in the hover? And what weaponry is being used? There's light flashes and then the explosions.
The whole thing looks more like a test to me than an actual combat strike but I could be wrong.
Normally you would expect a delay for the sound after the visible explosion. I guess they also had advanced tech to make sound travel at the speed of light.

-at first i thought omg what a formidable fire power, but it is likely the conditions, dry earth & sand that contribute to the smoke,
it doesnt actually hover, it fly very slow

-Looks like special effects to me.
If it really was the 'drone' causing those explosions, wouldn't it be wise to not sit there hovering among them?
Someone has taken some footage of a bombing run and edited in the 'drone'.

-I didn't realise that, what would the minimum speed be? Is it utilising lift fans like the F35?

-I agree 100% with jbritchford and I have watched a lot of these UFO videos in my time.
This isn't even a good one. Somewhere on the net there will be identical footage of the armoured vehicles parked up waiting for the air strike to come in.
As to the aircraft, its clearly aping the mythical TR3B (look it up on youtube) with its thick leading edge, triangular shape and big anti-gravity dome in the centre. That sort of thing is alien conspiracy territory I'm afraid.
As has been said, why would the aircraft sit within the blast effect of its weapon? Surely if you wanted to cause maximum effect (rather than causing the Taliban to question the aerodynamic properties of the aircraft attacking them) you would release the weapon from altitude from an aircraft that couldn't be heard so that there was minimal warning of it coming.
oh wait a minute.....;)

I'm afraid that you are wrong. Sector51, the person that faked the video, is a well known hoaxer. He/She simply uses footage that is on the web and thinks that nobody will find the original. The original video shows a group of US troops calling in an airstrike on a car bomb factory in Iraq. The original has been on You Tube since 2007. Sector51 has the footage as "Afghanistan 2014". I won't post the original video link as it is full of swearing and not really suitable as per the rules on the forum. PM me if you want the link to the original footage.

Come on, posting a link with soldiers swearing is not suitable ?
Besides, the link is already in the second post of this thread.

Kovy,
That isn't the full video. The longer version of the video that I have a link for contains a lot of foul language. This forum also allows under 13s to register with parental/guardian consent. After reviewing the link I was going to post I became aware of the very strong language and considered those youngsters that might be viewing the forum. Some people would certainly find it offensive and the post could have been reported.
If you are under the age of 13, the administrator may require that a parent or guardian provide consent before allowing you to complete the registration process. More information about this is available during the registration process.
What if I see something offensive? You will find 'Report' links in many places throughout the board. These links allow you to alert the board staff to anything which you find to be offensive, objectionable or illegal.

-Thanks guys, I'd assumed it to be fake in some way but not quite to the extent it was.
Beyond the bad language the original is impressive in itself. What would have done the airstrike? Part of it almost looks like an airburst, will that just be stuff thrown up from the factory?
