Very bad news for Aer Lingus:
From flyaerlingus.com
As a result of strike action by pilots on Thursday 30th May and their ongoing refusal to co-operate with the full implementation of the Survival Plan, Aer Lingus will not be in a position to recommence operations on Friday 31st May or Saturday 1st June. This position will be kept under review on a daily basis.

Aer Lingus regrets having to make this decision and the consequent disruption to our customers. It has been made inevitable by the written confirmation from IMPACT that the pilots will continue to refuse to implement the arbitration rulings on the airline's Survival Plan. The IMPACT letter went on to say that they fail to see the relevance of the Aer Lingus Survival Plan.

This is not good for them, they are in a bad enough shape at the moment and strike will just damage them further.I see that if the EI managment don't get this sorted out soon then we could be saying bye to another European carrier in the near furture.
