-This F1 is from the "Normandie-Nieman" squadron.
The free french "Normandie" group served with the russian air force during the WWII. Pilots were french and technicians were russians. For their help in the crossing of the Nieman river by the red army, the group was renamed "Normandie-Nieman". At the end of the war, the YAK-3s were given by Stalline to their pilot returning in France.
The "Normandie-Nieman" has still strong relationship with the russian air force
On the picture, notice the mixture between french and russian uniforms
